Self Study 4/Ideation


First idea was a platformer (i know very original), however this one i want to replicate the feel of 'Little Slime Blows Up' within a 3d space. The core mechanics are simple with basic movement and a jump feature that 'blows up' your slime into a larger slime with force added to act as a jump. This allows for some quite interesting puzzles like jumping into tight spaces and holding yourself there by becoming larger. The original game seemed to focus on the puzzle aspect and didn't have any enemies but this wouldn't be a one to one and is more about replicating the feel of the gameplay system that makes it so unique. The twinstick theme could be incorporated via some kind of abilities like a grapple or such on an alternate click.


Second idea was inspired from a roles reversed chess game where you became an invincible king and had to kill everything before it made it to the other side. The game idea had nothing to with chess and more about the role reversal. I was thinking about a stealth game where you had to avoid enemies and traps and such but instead playing from the guards pov. So you would be setting the traps and trying to track down the intruder. This concept of role reversal could be used in all manner of ways i just find the thought entertaining and would happily accept suggestions of any kind of reversal.
